"Twenty
years from now you will be more disappointed
by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
So
throw
off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds
in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
"
Mark Twain
After three years of exciting involvement in high tech in the San Francisco Bay Area, and various crazy tech projects, I packed up my laptops, whitewater and backcountry gear, and started driving south in an open Jeep. I love to explore, feel at home in the unknown, and enjoy the unexpected. Meeting other travelers and locals with a large variety of backgrounds made me realize what a wonderfully interesting world we live in. Along the way, I started looking for places where I may want to spend more time -- and found one, an island in Bocas del Toro, Panama, where I now have a little a reforestation project that I frequently go back to. Three years after leaving the US, I arrived in Tierra del Fuego -- but the adventure continues... In 2005, I finally started documenting my adventures with pictures and my trip journal; I will update these pages with past adventures as well as recent ones; but I've been so busy writing Ruby code for a Ruby on Rails project that I haven't made much progress... In 2006, I started hanging out in Asia, and set up a little software development and QA team in Guangzhou, China.
